Knee High Naturalist Program

Finding ChestnutsOur Knee High Naturalist program provides educational nature activities that are hands-on, take home and designed for pre-kindergarteners to second graders. The goal of the activities is to inspire understanding and appreciation of trees, wildlife, insects and ecology.

Spring is a great time for a field trip. The trees are leafing out, wildlife is abundant, there are birds galore and everyone is ready to be outside in the warming weather. Every season has something new to discover, and we offer our children’s program March through October.

We provide experienced instructors so that children can participate in the activities in small groups, each led by one instructor. Since budgets are tight, we want you to know that there is no charge for field trips. Supplies, resources, and trained instructors are free.

The Brenton Arboretum is committed to introducing Nature to young children and I hope you will encourage and support teachers, scout and youth group leaders who are willing to take the time to bring their classes on environmentally friendly field trips.

Please call me for more information or to reserve your date and time.
